Steve Dorn has been officially singing barbershop since 1995, but grew up a “barbershop brat." He is originally from the Far Western District (California), where he sang with the Masters of Harmony and in a top 10 district quartet.
Having heard that other states actually had different seasons, Steve decided to move somewhere further south in America. Unfortunately, he was singing along to his barbershop CD's in the moving truck, missed his exit and ended up in Atlanta. He has sung with many International gold medalists and International medalist choruses: The Big Chicken, The New Tradition, The Voices In Harmony, and The Masters of Harmony. He has also sung in two international quartets; once on bari and the other on tenor.
2016 has been an especially humbling year: Barbershopper of the Year, District Quartet Champion, 2nd Place Plateau Chorus, judged International Chorus and Quartet contests, and 3rd Place Small Chorus in Sweet Adelines.
Steve comes from a barbershopping family as his father sings in the North Georgia Barbershop Singers Chorus, which Steve directs, his sister sings in an International medalist Sweet Adelines chorus, his brother and brother-in-law both sing in choruses, and his wife sings in Georgia Sensation, a Sweet Adelines chorus which Steve directs.
Aside from all this singing, Steve has been married to Crystal for over 11 years with three beautiful children ages 7, 4, & 3.
